Astley & Tyldesley put out a team for the U-10 British Club Championships
at Kesgrave, Suffolk, on Saturday. The competition had to be re-drawn
after the late withdrawal of both Leicester and Sheffield, from Semi-Final
2. Unluckily for A & T, the re-draw saw us pitched against the two top
teams in the competition, and once again the youngsters were eliminated at
the semi-final stage. Adam Phillips rode to a great maximum score, for the
second successive year, whilst Adam Thompson received praise for
continuing after taking a heavy fall in the match. Ipswich went on to pip
the new Bretford club for the title.
